Windows 7 Service Pack 1 Coming Out in 2011

                                While we all know that the public beta of SP1 for Windows 7 came out some weeks back, it looks like Microsoft will be officially releasing the actual Windows 7 Service Pack this 2011. To be precise it looks like this will take place in April of 2011, based on updates gathered.

                   Most Microsoft users were anticipating the SP1 to come out by this year. Official remain firm that the new Service Pack does not contains no new features and will carry mostly enhancements. These “enhancements” include things such as support for more third-party federation services; improved HDMI audio device support; and XPS printing fixes.

                  Take note thought that this does not contradict the belief that the Windows 7 Service Pack will not be coming out this year. Microsoft has showed some inconsistencies when it comes to releasing such updates and from the looks of it, there is no telling if the official Service Pack will be out this year or in 2011.

Users, especially businesses, make use of updates to coincide with milestones for their planning and deployment with a new operating system.

Rupee Gets a Symbol

                                 This image is the final currency symbol of our Indian Rupee. The Rupee symbol is inspired from the Devanagari ‘Ra’ and the Roman capital ‘R’ which depicts the culture and ethos of India. The design by IIT post-graduate D Udaya Kumar is chosen as final from among five shortlisted symbols.

Unlike other currency symbols like the Dollar or the Euro, you can’t however type the Rupee symbol using the standard Roman keyboard as the Unicode Consortium has not assigned a unique (ASCII) code to this new Rupee symbol yet but there are some free fonts that include this symbol already.

 

How to Disable Taskbar Jump List in Windows 7

                     Windows 7 provides you a new Taskbar with Jump List facility. As in the previous Windows versions Taskbar shows the current opened files and programs, in Windows 7 taskbar also shows a Jump list of recently opened files.

You may not always require this feature due to privacy issues. So I am here to tell you how you can Disable Taskbar Jump Lists.

The Steps are:
1. Right-click on the Taskbar. Select properties.
2. Click on the Start Menu tab and uncheck "Store and display recently opened items in the Start menu and the taskbar".

3. Click Ok and now the jump list will not be visible. The screen shot below shows that Internet Explorer no longer shows the browser historyafter disabling the Jump List.
